Don't ask me — ask the teens!
|
Hi Reader! It's that time of year. The homeschool groups are buzzing. Everyone is talking about what curriculum they're buying for next fall. The recommendations are flying and the FOMO is real. Before you fall into that trap — I want to introduce you to some teens. Seventy-five of them, to be exact. I published a book, Homeschooled Teens — and yes, I realize many of you didn't know that. But this feels like exactly the right moment to mention it. Because these 75 young people speak candidly about what their lives were like without doing school — at home or anywhere else. Friends. College. Careers. And what they'd tell a worried parent if they had the chance. It's not theory. It's not research from the outside looking in. It's their actual experience — in their own words.
Or find out more about it here at the website And if the book sparks something for you — if you find yourself thinking okay but how do I actually do this with my teen — I have two options for that: The Unschool Teens Mini-bundle — resources specifically for parents navigating the teen years outside of school. The Creating Confidence Community — full of parents of teens who are figuring this out together, plus a library of ebooks, calls, and support that goes well beyond any curriculum purchase could offer. (all my ebooks are included!) Another curriculum? = another round of power struggles. ~SueSue Patterson, Unschooling Mom2Mom🌻 Ready for a few more ebooks? |
