Hey Reader,
If you’ve been feeling a little alone on this unschooling path — you’re not the only one.
It can be hard to find people who really get it.
That’s why I wanted to share this note from a Creating Confidence member:
“I was the only one in my town unschooling. I felt so isolated — until I joined this group. I finally had people to talk to who got it.”
💛 This week’s encouragement:
Connection changes everything — especially if you’ve been out there on your own for a while.
Start small. Find people you can connect with — even one person who doesn’t make you feel uncomfortable for choosing a different path.
Maybe that’s a nearby (more traditional) homeschooling group where you keep the focus on field trips and playdates (and sidestep the “What curriculum are you using?” chatter).
Or maybe it’s a parent on Instagram who just seems to get it.
The Unschooling Mom2Mom Facebook group is still happening after all these years too!
If your local options feel limited — or a little off — you don’t have to stay isolated.
It really helps to find a place where unschooling makes sense — where you can talk freely, ask questions, and feel supported instead of second-guessed or judged.
🙋🏻♀️ If you're thinking about the Membership...
We share what’s working — and what’s not.
We swap resources and problem-solve together so everyone can find ideas that fit their home and their kids.
We talk together at least three times a week — plus there’s an ongoing WhatsApp channel for quick check-ins and real-life brainstorming.
Some members have local groups too, but they stay in the group for the kind of unschooling support that helps them navigate those circles with confidence. Others haven’t found anyone local yet — and our community helps fill that gap.

I shared a few of the real conversations that came up during our latest coaching call — things like resistant kids, spouses unsure about unschooling, and the stories we tell ourselves about what this should look like. 👉 Watch here

"I was surrounded by homeschooled moms with curriculum. I used to BE one of them! But my kids had other plans. lol I'm so glad to have found Sue and her community of parents who don't judge or give me some side-eye. This membership group is not like anything else!"
