Unschooling Intentions: 2026

Happy New Year, Reader!

Did you stay home last night or do something fun? I’d love to know! (I’ll share mine below in the P.S.)

I know a lot of people pick a word for the new year. Or they make New Year’s resolutions.
Just FYI, I’m turning 65 next month, kind of monumental. We’ll see what’s in store - never too late, right?

My Unschooling Intentions List

I want to let you know what my unschooling intentions are - you can be my accountability buddy!
Feel free to check-in and ask me where i am on this project! Really! That will help me if I know someone is waiting for it.

1) I want to grow my Podcast and Youtube channel. They seem to be the best way to let people know more about unschooling and how it could work for them. Goal: Consistency. Weekly. Same day each week. (are you subscribed? do you like any of them?) 🎧 🎥

2) Unschooling App - I bought the software to create this. It will be a way for people to get support from me for under $10/month. I have boatloads of helpful PDFs and private podcasts, I’ll share them with people on the app - DAILY Unschooling Inspiration! 📱

3) Creating Confidence Membership - I want to grow my private group. I love being connected with people who really want to grow their confidence! And I know a lot of people need community. After seeing how quickly my big Unschooling Mom2Mom list can devolve into not-so-unschooling-aligned advice, it’s clear how confusing that can be and how people need a safe place for unschooling ideas. 💞

Those are my top three!

But… because I’m an over-achiever these will be falling into little spaces along the way. I'll probably prioritize them based on what people say they'd like to access. (Reminder to accountability buddies - feedback, check-ins help!)

  • 💌 Emails - Figure out an email strategy that people really want. Did you know I have 3500 people on this email list with 60-70% of the people opening the email (that’s a great #)? But only 1-2% click anything in the email (a terrible number ha!) So maybe something needs to shift. Any ideas, let me know!
  • 🗓️ Strewing Calendar - this is such a little gem. Especially for the Almost Unschooling crowd or the moms who are pressed for time but need ideas for fun things to do with the kids. I don’t talk about it enough.
  • 📓 Your First 30 Days Unschooling Planner/Journal - I love this idea. It should be ready soon.
  • 🧠 Your Unschooling Confidence Reset - a 3 module course to help you tackle the inner critic and fears/worries that are weighing parent down. Super excited about getting this out into the world!
  • 📚 Unschooling Guides - Such great information but they're looking a little dated. Primarily because I created them in 2018-2019! I think I’m going to move them into my membership group’s resource library and either convert them to mini-courses, put them into bundles that make sense or revamp them and sell on Amazon/etc.
  • 🚶🏻‍♂️Unschooling Teens - so many ideas for this. I want to make a workbook to go with my Homeschool Teens book and maybe a course to help people see exactly how they COULD keep unschooling throughout the teen years without doors closing for their future.

Those are the main ideas… for now.
Did anyone ever see “Night Shift” with Michael Keaton and Henry Winkler? I sometimes feel like the “Idea Man.”
It’s amazing how much you can get to when the kids have flown from the nest!

🎊 Happy New Year - and Happy Unschooling! 🎉

~Sue
