You’ve decided not to go back. Now what?

Hey Reader!

The school supplies have been in the stores for weeks. Your social media feed is filling up with first-day pictures.
Buses are already rolling through the neighborhoods again.

But your kids won’t be getting on one.

That can feel wonderfully freeing, right up until you realize the school calendar has been organizing more of your life than you thought.

Once you take school away, there’s suddenly a lot of open space.
Not just in the day, but in the way you think about learning, progress, and what your family is supposed to be doing.

It’s tempting to rush in and fill that space: making plans, finding the right resources, and getting everyone moving in a direction that looks productive.

But this transition isn’t about replacing school as quickly as possible. It’s about giving your family a chance to discover what life can look like without school running in the background.

That’s what we’re going to do during the Not Back to School 7-Day Challenge.

Each day, I’ll give you one practical place to focus, from making your home work better for everyone to noticing the learning that’s already happening. We’ll also talk about some of the harder parts, like quieting the school voice in your own head and dealing with people who don’t understand what you’re doing.

If you’re excited about leaving school behind but still aren’t quite sure what happens next, join me for the Not Back to School 7-Day Challenge here:

We’ll spend the week getting you onto some solid ground.
